| Mayor of Gdynia announces a photo contest |

Mayor of Gdynia Wojciech Szczurek announces a photo contest "Gdynia under Sail" (Gdynia pod Żaglami). The contest is intended to show Gdynia, the host city of "The Tall Ships' Races" - which is the largest and most important event in the sailing world - as the cradle of Polish sailing. The organisers would like the images entered for the contest to record the unforgettable moments connected with this unique event and depict the yachting climate of Gdynia as well as the spirit and atmosphere of "The Tall Ships' Races" as a maritime feast.The winner of the main award, selected by the jury of the contest, will be given a photo camera (digital reflex camera), the winners of the other awards will receive photo equipment items. The jury, composed of persons with experience and competence in photography, among them the most recent winner of the annual contest "Gdynia - Traditionally Modern," will be presided over by an outstanding reporter, photographer and portraitist Czesław Czapliński. The contest will culminate in a photo exhibition, the opening of which will coincide with the prize-giving ceremony. Deadline for entries is 11 September, 2009.
