On 1-7 July an occasional short wave station SN2009TSR will be operating

The activities of radio-amateurs are inseparably linked with The Tall Ships' Races. Radio-amateurs from all around the world in cooperation with organizers of the Races conduct youth maritime education through the ether.

Polish radio-amateurs also contribute to the preservation of this tradition. In 1992 the station SP0OSG was available and in 2003 there was a station SN0OSG. Both organized by radio-amateurs from the Maritime Radio Club Szkuner, SP2ZIE from Gdynia.

In the year 2009, on 2 - 5 July sailing ships participating in The Tall Ships' Races will call up at Gdynia harbour again.

This time the Polish radio-amateurs will also promote Gdynia and inform visitors in Poland and abroad about this great event. To make this event even more attractive they will conduct a special activity by the radio, thanks to which people will learn more about the sailing ships and our city.

The station will be installed on 4th floor at Maritime Academy in Gdynia, Kosciuszko Square.
