Tall Ships in Gdynia
The Tall Ships' Races, organised by Sail Training International and supported by Antwerp, with Sovcomflot as a presenting partner in 2009, are commonly called in Poland "Operation Sail", although the latter is a series of ocean races.

From 1972 to 2003, the event was called The Cutty Sark Tall Ships' Races, after the name of its sponsor, a producer of Scotch whisky. Since 2004, the Races have been called The Tall Ships’ Races.

On 2-5 July 2009, tall ships and yachts from all over the world will sail to Gdynia for the fourth time to participate in The Tall Ships' Races from Gdynia to St Petersburg (Russia), Turku (Finland) and Klaipeda (Lithuania).
